John Wade

John is a Chartered Building Surveyor, Registered Valuer and a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

He has more than thirty years’ experience as a surveyor and his professional expertise covers many areas, from surveys and valuations to architectural services and party wall disputes.

Training as a Building Surveyor in the architecture department of a local authority, John designed many repair and refurbishment schemes and oversaw the refurbishment and renovation of period properties and listed buildings. This experience developed his eye for design and adds the to the range of skills he can offer clients.

John is at home in both the private and public sector, designing and managing building and construction contracts. His clients include the NHS, Local Authority departments, and local education authorities as well as sole traders, builders, and large building companies – one of his favourite parts of his job is meeting and working with this interesting mix of people.

John has, in the past, done a lot of voluntary work as a mediator. This experience has been invaluable as he is now a registered Expert Witness with The Law Society and a member of the RICS Dispute Resolution Faculty. He is often called on to help resolve construction disputes between neighbours.

John is also a member of the Pyramus & Thisbe Club as a party wall surveyor experienced in the Party Wall etc. Act 1996.

When he’s not in the office or on site, John rarely puts his feet up. He enjoys family time with his wife and three children and likes to keep active whether that’s at the gym, circuit training, mountain biking or windsurfing. His latest hobby, however, does at least let him sit down: he’s learning to play the guitar.
